World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2020: Let’s Spread the Awareness
Menstruation is a normal biological process. While pregnancy is celebrated in India, menstruation is still considered as a dark phase.
Still in India, not only in villages but also in cities many females use rags and clothes to manage periods, instead of easily available & much safer sanitary napkins. Proper menstrual hygiene will reduce the rate of genital (private parts) infections, urinary infections & also serious infections like Toxic Shock Syndrome
Basic Menstrual hygiene:
- use of sanitary napkins
- changing napkins every 4-6 hours
- washing of external private parts with water and gentle soap.
- Not only medicos but general people can also make females aware of menstrual hygiene like teachers, mother, sisters.
So let’s pledge to improve India’s menstrual hygiene.
